MANAGING HEALTH
AND SAFETY IN SWIMMING POOLS
Available
for the first time from ISRM, ‘Managing health and safety
in swimming pools’ is the definitive summary of HSE
guidance in this area. This comprehensive 130 page manual
deserves its place on the bookshelf of every swimming pool
manager.
This third edition brings the guidance up to date with changes
in health and safety law and new developments in relation
to equipment, facilities and supervision arrangements. It
provides guidance for those who have any involvement with
the operation and management of health and safety in swimming
pools: primarily pool owners (including local authority clients),
pool operators (including management contractors), architects,
engineers, designers, manufacturers and constructors. Aspects
of this guidance will also apply to pool hirers. Its aim is
to provide guidance on the risks associated with swimming
pool operation and the precautions which may be taken to help
achieve a safer environment for people who use swimming pools
and employees who work in them.
