The Institute of Sport and Recreation Management
We are delighted, on behalf of the joint ISPAL and ISRM Project Working Group, to confirm that the Preliminary Memorandum to the Privy Council was submitted in early August.
The Preliminary Memorandum represents the first stage in our application to the Privy Council for a new Chartered Institute. It was produced following a long period of research, business planning and legal advice. This included research into the challenges facing the sector, extensive stakeholder consultation and discussions within the industry, which confirmed that the move to a new institute was broadly welcomed by everyone.
We now look forward eagerly to feedback and an on-going dialogue with the Privy Council, with the intention of successfully undertaking the remaining stages of the application process by the end of 2009. We will of course continue to keep all our members and stakeholders very much up to date on progress via bulletins on both the ISPAL and ISRM websites.
Peter Mann, Chairman of ISPAL, and Marc Newey, Chairman of ISRM, said in a joint statement:
"We are extremely pleased to have submitted the Preliminary Memorandum to the Privy Council. This represents a major milestone on the journey towards Chartered status and we look forward to updating members on progress as we work through the next stages of the application process."
