This seminar looks at what you need to know to run events safely, from managing crowds effectively to liaising with the emergency services and contingency planning. It will also look at the lessons learnt from the Dreamspace tragedy.

- Cameron Adam is the HSE's new Head of Commercial and Consumer Services and Entertainment and Leisure Section.
- Jon Wort from Resilient Consultants, experts in crowd control and course facilitators at Easingwold Emergency Planning College
- Northumbria Police play a major proactive role in promoting safety in the North East, at events ranging from football matches to the Sunderland International Air Show. Today Superintendent Derek Scott will give an insight into major event control from overall strategy to practical implementation (Gold, Silver and Bronze Command).
- Ken Scott is author of the Event Safety Guide and Chair of the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) for Sunderland Association Football Club and the Stadium of Light.
