2006 ISRM/IQL Lifeguard Triathlon underway

Across the United Kingdom, from the Channel Islands to the North of Scotland, the 2006 ISRM/IQL Lifeguard Triathlon has started in earnest.

Over 50 teams have now entered, which means that more than 500 lifeguards across the country will take part in the event this year.

The teams have now received their assessment packs from the event manager, ISRM member and RLSS UK Trainer Assessor David Cartlidge, and many sites will have already started to run the Triathlon in their centres.

By entering the ISRM/IQL Lifeguard Triathlon, the pools are demonstrating their commitment to delivering the safest possible pool environment. A list of participating sites at: www.isrm.co.uk/triathlon/teamlist.htm

Teams have until the end of May to report their results back to the organisers.

Next up is the first posting of the "Top 20" league table on www.isrm.co.uk, featuring a leader board of the highest scoring lifeguards. We're planning to do this on Wednesday 17 May, and on the following two Wednesdays as well. The full results will be announced at the ISRM/
IQL National Lifeguard Challenge on June 10, where the top lifeguard and top team will be revealed.

If you didn't enter your pool this year, then don't miss out in 2007. We'll let you know how to enter closer to the date.
