This is a two day training course based upon the ISRM Spa Pool Manual. It is intended for staff who have a basic knowledge and understanding of spa pools and offers them the chance to gain a nationally recognised qualification. Course assessment is detailed below.
The aim of this course is to provide a detailed understanding of the design and operation of spa pools by examing the contamination of spa pool water and the treatment processes for that water through each of the component parts of the spa. The course investigates the water testing protocols and the interpretation of results with an overview of the health and safety implications and of the need to operate within specified guidelines.
The certificate covers the following content:
All persons who have an operational, supervisory or managerial responsibility for spa pools within their sport and leisure facilities.

This course is assessed. The assessment is in two parts - through an end of course, short answer written and multiple choice test plus a work based assignment. People attending this course without the basic knowledge or experience will not gain the full benefits offered by the course and will risk the possibility of failing the assessment. No certificates will be awarded to candidates who are unsuccessful.
