In addition to courses of study leading to membership at full and diploma level, the Institute also has a comprehensive vocationally based short course training programme aimed at improving the skills of all levels of staff in the sport and recreation industry. The linking together of certain of these modular courses, together with appropriate experience, can qualify students for association membership of the Institute. The qualifications obtained through taking ISRM courses are approved by the Secretary of State for Education as Vocational Qualifications under Section 3 of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992.
