DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAMME FROM ISRM AND GRASS ROOTS PLC

ISRM, in partnership with The Grass Roots plc training organisation have teamed up to provide a 'measurable' distance learning programme which has been commissioned and support funded by the Improvement and Development Agency for Local Government (IdeA) and is designed to cover the basic requirements of communicating with disabled customers and staff, incorporating key aspects of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

The training comes in the form of an easy to follow WorkBook, which covers the following key areas: -

On completion of the WorkBook students carry out an interactive test either by using a freephone number, an on-line test or alternatively by textphone/Minicom.

This extremely low cost training provides:

Q. How do I know that this Disability Awareness programme provides the right source of information?

Q. How do I enrol for the Disability Awareness programme?

Q. How long will I have to wait before receiving my training pack?

Corporate applications will be processed immediately. Individual applications can only be processed in blocks of 100 so there may be a short delay in processing your application.

Q. How long do candidates have to complete the programme?

Once the packs have been despatched candidates will have six weeks to complete the freephone or on-line test.

Q. How long do candidates typically take to complete the WorkBook?

Between 2 & 4 hours in total - the test takes approximately 10 minutes.

Q. How are people tested?

On completing the WorkBook they can access the test either on-line or by dialling an 0800 freephone interactive test line, keying in a unique PIN Number. Then 12 multiple-choice questions are asked. The pass mark is 9 out of 12 and candidates have two attempts at passing.
