What is CPD?
CPD stands for 'Continuing Professional Development'. ISRM's CPD scheme offers planned self development and is a hallmark of professionalism which we strongly encourage all members to participate in. CPD is the systematic maintenance, improvement and broadening of knowledge and skills, relevant to the sport and recreation industry and the development of personal qualities necessary for the execution of professional, managerial, developmental, administrative, coaching and operational duties throughout a member's career.
How do I take part?
ISRM's CPD scheme requires you to collect information throughout the year regarding personal development, and then submit
this information, either online or in written form. To take part you need to:
- Read the full CPD information pack. This is available to download from www.isrm co.uk, or by calling 01509 226474.The brochure will also be distributed in a membership mailing in April 2006.
- Decide how you wish to manage your submission - if you would like to submit your CPD entry online this year, then make
sure you are regsitered to use the members area of www.isrm.co.uk. Visit the website for more information.

CPD recognition
CPD will be formally recognised by the following:
- Award of an exclusive ISRM certificate, presentation of which will be made at regional meetings and seminars.
- Inclusion in ISRM Members' Handbook enhancing your professional status and demonstrating to employers your commitment to learning and development.
- Letter of commendation sent to employer (where desired).
- Award of a 'CPD accredited' gift.
