Active IQ and ISRM Partnership
The ISRM is delighted to announce a partnership working arrangement with Industry awarding body 'Active IQ'. We very much look forward to working with them and are confident that the partnership will further enhance the quality and standing of all ISRM's training and education.
Active IQ is well respected in the Industry and following a recent assessment of training provision by SkillsActive (Feb 06), Active IQ was the most cited awarding body among fitness professionals outside of universities.
Active IQ shares similar aims to the ISRM in that collectively we aim to get more people trained and qualified for the sport, recreation, health and fitness sector (Active Leisure). In doing so, we seek to raise standards of practice and provide qualifications and training resources that are fit for purpose and affordable.
Our partnership comes at a time when the Government is investing heavily in training for young aspirants who seek work in this vibrant and growing sector, as well as those who need to develop their skills through work-based training programmes.
Active IQ been successful in securing the following ISRM qualifications onto the National Qualifications Framework:
- ISRM Foundation Pool Plant Operator - Leading to the Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Basic Pool Plant Operations.
- ISRM National Pool Plant Operator - Leading to the Active IQ Level 3 Certificate in Pool Plant Operations.
- ISRM Supervisory Management Certificate - Leading to the Active IQ Level 3 Certificate in Supervisory Management in Sport and Recreation.
- ISRM Operations Certificate - Leading to the Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Sport and Recreation Operations.
- ISRM Fitness Management Certificate - Leading to the Active IQ Level 3 Certificate in Fitness Management.
The ISRM qualifications and resources will now be available to approved Active IQ centres, although the qualifications achieved will be Active IQ qualifications, the syllabus and resources will continue to be branded ISRM, and an ISRM certificate will also be issued to successful candidates.
The partnership has also committed to future development work for areas of the sector which are under-represented by appropriate qualifications.
