Event social programme 2009

ISRM's conference social programme will centre around our themed dinner aka Bash, on Wednesday 11 November.

Your evening will start with a visit to Alton Towers’ latest attraction - Sharkbait Reef. Coaches will be available from 6.30pm to transport all delegates from the hotel to Sharkbait Reef, where pre-dinner drinks “shaken not stirred” will be served while you marvel at this brand new aquarium. Dare you explore this ancient shipwreck and all the underwater creatures that live within? With hundreds of different species, you'll be fascinated with the underwater life on display – and delegates can even get touchy feely with them too! Plus, as a spectacular centerpiece to your Sharkbait Reef adventure, there's an underwater glass tunnel to journey through!

Our coaches will then return delegates to Sir Algenon’s lounge and The Stateroom in the conference centre where our James Bond themed dinner ‘Octopussy’ will commence at 8.00pm.

Fancy dress

For the competitive amongst you we will be awarding prizes for the best dressed Bond character, and we have provided a few examples below to stimulate your imagination.

Best fancy dress 1st Prize – Alton Towers 2010 family theme park ticket
Best fancy dress 2nd Prize – Alton Towers 2010 family waterpark ticket
Best fancy dress 1st runner-up – bottle of champagne
Best fancy dress 2nd runner-up – bottle of champagne

There will also be a charity raffle on behalf of Marie Curie Cancer Care as represented by Swimathon.

Arch Water Products, who have supported our Conference Bash from Sean Connery’s early Bond career, are supporting the event again this year through drinks on your table and a Bond Agent Card Draw.

Finally, back by popular demand are the band that gave such a fabulous performance last year. Hipster, the ultimate Rock Band will be on stage from 9.30pm.
