Open to either:
- ISRM Members that have passed the Sport and Recreation Diploma Examination or the Edexel Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) currently delivered at Rotherham College (RCAT).
- A Sports Management related degree at minimum level 6 e.g. B.A. (Hons) or B.Sc (Hons) Sports Management or Sports Development.
- Advanced DMS in Management (Sport & Recreation or Development)
- M.A or M.Sc in Sports Management.
- Any other Sports related honours degree e.g. B.A (Hons) Sports Studies or B.Sc (Hons) Sports Science PLUS accepted, accredited TWO years work based CPD OR TWO years work experience in a Sport/Health/Fitness/Recreation environment at management level OR submit a work based project of 5000 words for assessment at level 6.
Diploma members of ISRM are entitled to use the Designatory letters 'M.Inst.SRM.Dip' - the hallmark of the qualified sport and recreation professional - which will help you gain the career advancement you deserve.
Membership benefits include:
- Jobs - 'Recruitment' advertisements are circulated to members on a bi-weekly basis. Many posts advertised in this way stipulate ISRM Membership as a pre-condition. Also free access to 'Flow Sports' jobs advisory and recruitment service. For members who are employers 'Flow Sports' offers a preferential recruitment fee of 12.5% of the appointed persons salary (Normal fee up to 25%).
- Networking and Continuing Professional Development - Regional Meetings/Seminars in your region covering all aspects of Recreation Management. Meet other managers - share problems - gain solutions - continue with your professional development - effect the workings of the region and Institute.
- Updates - Information Notes are circulated in ISRM's mailing which cover all aspects of sport & recreation facility management and operation from safety and technical issues to European Legislation.
- Priority 'members Helpline' - the advisory Service aims to provide advice on any area of sport and recreation facility management and operation through information releases, written replies and a telephone helpline.
- Conference and Exhibition - members are entitled to substantial reductions on ISRM's Conference Delegate registration. Members are also entitled to free admission to ISRM's Exhibition.
- Knowledge and News - all members receive a regular copy of 'Recreation' magazine which contains authoritative articles on all aspects of sport and recreation operational management. Members also receive weekly E-News bulletins with cutting edge stories and links to valuable resources.
- Access to the Members only section of the website which includes a forum and hundreds of information notes and other useful documents.
- Member Directory online - This resource is for members only and is located in the ‘members only’ area of the ISRM Website (www.isrm.co.uk). The definitive guide to sport and recreation management and development professionals and an invaluable resource for networking with fellow professionals.
