Institute of Sport and Recreation Management
ISRM is the only national professional body for those involved exclusively in providing, managing, operating and developing sport and recreation services in the United Kingdom. The Institute is a registered charity.
The Institute's vision
To promote professionalism in the management of sport and recreation services, ensuring that the benefits of sport and physical activity can be delivered effectively through the professional, safe and efficient management and development of sport and recreation facilities and services.
Our objectives
- To identify and promote professional best practice throughout the sport and recreation sector.
- To establish and maintain high-quality professional qualifications and continuous professional development that are current and for which there is industry recognition and demand.
- To provide a comprehensive support and information service for our members through direct communications and regional networks.
- To provide courses and qualifications that will help people employed in the sector to improve their skills, and which develop and advance their professional careers.
- To develop strategic alliances and partnerships to promote the benefits of sport, recreation and physical activity to the population as a whole.
- To engage with like-minded organisations beyond the United Kingdom to collectively improve standards of professionalism in the management of sport and recreation.
